The William J. Gies Awards for Vision, Innovation and Achievement (The GiesAwards) honor the significant achievements of individuals, institutions and organizations that are meaningfully advancing oral health and dental education. The work of our awardees embodies those ideals set forth more than 90 years ago by dental education pioneer William J. Gies, Ph.D.
Founded in 2007, the annual Gies Awards gala remains a catalyst for change—to encourage new ideas, generate opportunities and tackle issues facing the not-so-distant future of dental education. It’s a platform that accelerates innovation by coalescing diverse, brilliant minds around common goals that improve people’s oral and systemic health and move our classrooms and communities forward.
